Liam Spices Up Star Wars Attack Of The Clones

During rehearsals on the set, Liam suggests that perhaps audiences will find the character more palatable without the crazy accent.

Liam had a nightmare time working as Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones.

“After Phantom Menace, George Lucas realised how crap Jar Jar Binks was, and asked me to step in to make him genuinely funny for Star Wars II Attack of the Clones,” said Liam.

“I’m always up for a challenge, but I’ve got to say, I was tough work. Ewan Macgregor kept on playing tricks with my head, and the script didn’t make it easy.

“Originally, I was supposed to be a Jedi Jester, and say hilarous things at Jedi meetings. But who can compete with Yoda?

“Then we tried Jedi Minsteral. My line was ‘Annie Skywalker? The little orphan Annie? Mesa love that musical! It make mesa wanna singa. Tattooine, Tattooine, mesa love ya, Tatooine. You’sa only a daysa way!

Things were looking grim when Sam Jackson suggested I play a Senator. Sadly, George Lucas liked the idea, and my dance scene with Yoda was left on the cutting room floor.
