Chris models his The Jester costume, a mistake for which he would pay dearly, losing the plum role to Heath Ledger.
It is a little known fact that Gorskys’ Chris Tomkins auditioned for “Batman: The Dark Knight” for the role of the Joker.
“I was so excited when I had been accepted to audition that I went straight out and bought a costume,” Chris reminisces, “Unfortunately I got confused and thought I was trying out for the part of The Jester, not The Joker.”
Chris blamed his mistake on playing cards which often depict a Jester on the Joker card.
Batman director, Christopher Nolan, did not accept this as a valid excuse.
The role of The Joker was eventually landed by fellow Australian actor Heath Ledger, who did a far better job than Chris would have done anyway.
